Plan AheadWith schedules as busy as they’ve ever been, you probably have your morning habits down to a science. But with a little attention to your nighttime routine, you can set the tone for an even more productive following day. Here are four ways your evenings can give your mornings a boost.

Plan your day. Check your calendar and identify the top three biggest tasks or challenges for the following day. This will prevent you from wasting time the next morning because you’ve already written it down. If you work from a to-do list or task-list app, schedule your most time-sensitive, critical or energy-expending items for the beginning of the following day.

Your SuccessGet your body moving with physical activity. You can’t expect to be as productive as possible, especially if your job is sedentary, without moving around a little. You don’t have to have a gym membership to make this happen. A brisk walk around the neighborhood, walking the dog, yoga or a home treadmill can calm your nerves and clear your head for the remainder of the evening.

Recognize relationships and the way they give more meaning to life. Make it a goal each night to give uninterrupted and undivided attention (meaning no phone or TV!) to the people in your life who matter most. It’s one of the best things you can do, for them and for you.

Reflect on your gratitude and journal it. Identifying four or five things to be thankful for is one of the best-kept secrets to a restful mind. And genuine appreciation is one of the quickest shortcuts to seeing the wealth you already have in hand.

A great evening routine will clear your mind and get you ready for a productive next day.
